It’s the weekend and time for another Weekend Roundup. Just click the links in green.
- The Game Changers documentary is now available on Netflix worldwide. It features several professional athletes from a variety of sports who adopted a plant-based diet. As a result, these athletes saw improvements in their athletic performances. Additionally, the documentary presents a lot of nutrition information and even touches on the environmental impacts of animal agriculture. I highly recommend watching The Game Changers when you get a chance.
- Have you heard about regenerative agriculture? I recently started learning about this topic and came across an article by National Geographic that provides a good introductory explanation. Regenerative agriculture has many benefits and it might be the best way to mitigate climate change.
- In need of a fall recipe to try? Check out this pumpkin spice granola recipe from one of my favorite vegan food bloggers, Remy (aka Veggiekins). It’s the perfect fall snack.
- In conservation news, 4 bison were released into an area of Badlands National Park that was recently expanded. Bison have not set foot in this area for more than 140 years.
- An article by Mercy for Animals, and the video within, documents animal cruelty at a fish hatchery in Maine. A lot of people don’t think fish feel pain but studies have shown that fish can, in fact, experience pain.
- The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization dedicated to cleaning up plastic pollution in our oceans, has successfully captured plastic in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. After having some hiccups earlier this year, this is great news for the organization and for our oceans.
- In a Ted Talk, social psychologist Dolly Chugh discusses ethical behavior and why we should let go of trying to be a “good” person. Instead, we should strive to be “good-ish” people who acknowledge and learn from our mistakes.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
