Can you believe it’s December already?! Christmas is only 3 weeks away and we’re almost to 2019. Whoa, this year has flown by. While I’m happy December is here (bring on the Christmas music and holiday festivities!), I’m kind of sad to see November go already. It was a really good month for me: I launched my blog, went to the SEED Festival, went to Charlotte for Thanksgiving, ate some delicious vegan food, and, overall, had a lot of fun this month. Below are some of the things I loved in November.
Food: Mac & Cheese from Fern
While I was in Charlotte for Thanksgiving weekend, I ate at Fern twice. Both times I got the mac and cheese because it was that good. It is a homestyle mac and cheese that is served in a skillet and topped with Violife cheese (I believe they use Violife’s parmesan cheese). Instead of using a nut-based cheese sauce, such as one made from cashews, Fern makes their cheese sauce with sweet potato as the base. Overall, it was delicious and the best vegan mac and cheese I’ve had so far. Pictured below is Fern’s mac and cheese along with their apple french toast which my dad ordered.
Essential Oil: Tuscan Sun
I used up all my essential oil blends in October so I bought some new blends from Saje Natural Wellness at the start of November. My favorite blend I ordered was Tuscan Sun, which is a citrus blend comprised of lemon, bergamot, and grapefruit. It’s a very cheerful scent and it diffuses nicely. If you like citrusy scents, I’d recommend giving this blend a try.
Movie: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
I don’t consider myself a hardcore Harry Potter fan because I haven’t read all of the books and I don’t own a wand or any wizarding gear. However, I do love the movies and I know my Hogwarts house and patronus so I’d say I’m at least an above average fan. I was so excited when Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them came out 2 years ago because it meant learning more about the Harry Potter universe and having new movies to look forward to.
When I was in Charlotte, I got to see the second installment of the Fantastic Beasts series with my cousin Meghan and I loved it. I enjoyed meeting some new characters, like Theseus Scamander and Leta Lestrange. I also thought Jude Law made the perfect young Dumbledore. That’s all I’m going to say about the movie because I don’t want to give anything away. You have to see it for yourself when you can.
Event: SEED Food & Wine Tasting Village
The SEED Festival is by far the best vegan festival in Miami and one of the best in the US. This was my second year attending the Tasting Village and it was such a great experience. There were over 180 vendors and so much yummy free food. I already wrote a blog post recapping some of my highlights from this year’s SEED Festival which you can read here.
